Two ways to use Club Rankings: (1) Included with full Club Court Manager — courts + rankings on one site ($40/mo up to 6 courts, +$5 per extra court, unlimited members). (2) Standalone ($19/mo, 150 active members) — rankings only; keep CourtReserve or HOA scheduling. Upgrade from standalone to full CCM preserves all ranking history.

1. Overview & concepts

What Club Rankings is

Club Rankings is a club-scoped engagement and seeding system. Standings are valid only inside your club, per sport — not a global rating like DUPR or UTR.

Event types

TypeHow Club Play matches playersTypical use
Round robinFull schedule at Start live; fixed teams rotate or random mix spreads partnersNights where everyone knows the schedule up front
King of the courtWinners stay (fixed/singles) with a challenger queue; random mix fully re-pairs each roundOpen play or social remix nights
LadderAdjacent ranks from a live ladder; upsets swap placesSeason-rank challenge nights
SwissEach round pairs by tonight's record (wins, then point diff); fills courts; avoids rematches when possibleLarge fields that should stay competitive round to round

Club Play format pairing detail → Mini-league Playbook §4.4.

Sport-specific presets apply when rankings are first enabled for a section (e.g. Pickleball vs Tennis weights).

Mini-leagues, Club Play, and Sessions

Three related layers inside Club Rankings (see also who does what):

Handoff: Admin creates the mini-league and assigns captains → captain creates each Club Play → members sign up and play → captain completes scoring → everyone reads Mini-leagues / Sessions.

A mini-league is a club-scoped season within one sport — often six months with eligibility rules. Admins create mini-leagues, assign mini-league captains to enter results, and may link event registration pages so sign-ups respect eligibility.

Archived mini-leagues stay in history but disappear from public pick lists. For the full signup → scores → results workflow, see the Mini-league Playbook (PDF).

Rankings wallet (QR + 4-digit confirm code)

Each ranked player receives a personal rankings wallet when they join a sport roster or register for a linked event:

View your QR and re-print from My ranking. Admins can Regenerate wallet QR + 4-digit code on the member profile if a card is lost.

Rankings wallet (/rankings-wallet) — courtside confirm with sport + 4-digit code; no full sign-in required on a shared tablet.

Confirmation workflow

When a member submits session results, every participant must confirm (or dispute) before standings update — unless your admin sets majority rule. Admins can also enter results directly (no confirmation needed).

  1. Submitter logs the session and players.
  2. Other players confirm by: wallet QR, 4-digit code (/rankings-wallet or Confirm tab), personal link (email), or the signed-in Confirm tab.
  3. When confirmations are complete, rankings recalculate automatically.
  4. Disputes appear in Admin → Review for a final decision.

Where to open it

On your community site: /rankings. If your admin set visibility to Public, anyone can view the Leaderboard tab without signing in. All other tabs — Sessions, Mini-leagues, club stats, My ranking, submit, and confirm — require sign-in. Tenant admins see Admin and Captain tabs, plus site nav Club Play and an Admin-page Club Play link next to Club Rankings.

Anyone interested in Club Rankings can open shared Training (fictional players only) from clubcourtmanager.com/platform/rankings or https://your-sports-club.clubcourtmanager.com/rankings-scenario. Choose Member, Captain, or Administrator on the welcome screen — see Part 8.

Part 1 — Members

1.5 My ranking tab

When your admin enables club rating for this sport, you may see two numbers on the same 1.0–5.5 scale:

Recent sessions may show a club rating change (e.g. +0.04) alongside performance point changes.

Your personal summary: total points with a full category breakdown (performance, participation, volunteer, sportsmanship), wins/losses, streaks, achievements earned, and your last 20 completed sessions (click any session for per-player scores). Also shows your rankings wallet QR and reminds you to keep your 4-digit confirm code (shown once when issued). You can opt to hide your profile from the leaderboard with the privacy checkbox.

1.6 Submit results tab

Not for live Club Play. Use this tab for casual sessions when there was no Club Play night. On a live Club Play session, the captain or admin enters court scores at /club-play; members watch only — peer confirm does not apply. See Playbook §4 — When to use which.
  1. Enter event name and date.
  2. Choose event type (round robin, king of the court, ladder, Swiss).
  3. Add a row for every player who participated (including yourself).
  4. Enter wins, losses, ties, points for/against, and placement as applicable.
  5. Click Submit for confirmation.
  6. Share personal confirm links with other players (shown after submit).
You are auto-confirmed as the submitter. Everyone else must confirm from their link or the Confirm tab.

1.9 Privacy

Admins set leaderboard visibility per sport under Admin → Settings:

Individual members can also check Hide my profile from the public leaderboard on the My ranking tab — others won't see you on the board (you still see yourself).

Part 2 — Administrators

Open Club Rankings and select the Admin tab (visible only to tenant admins).

2.1 Enter results

Direct entry — no member confirmation required. Use for league nights when the chair enters official results.

2.6 Standalone vs full CCM

Rankings-only tenants see court booking hidden; roster and import still available. Full CCM tenants also book courts, run event registration (Part 5), and may log ranking sessions from the admin schedule — when a schedule block has an event registration page, its Log rankings button opens the Events participants flow so results are scored in one place.

Part 4 — CSV import tips

Full CCM admins can also import members via Admin → Members (CourtReserve-style CSV) — that populates sign-in accounts; use Rankings Import for historical scores.

Part 5 — Event registration

Full CCM communities (and rankings-only tenants with events enabled) can run public registration pages from Admin → Events.

5.1 Create an event

  1. Admin → Events → create event with title, date, sport, capacity, and registration deadline.
  2. Optionally link a mini-league — registrations check eligibility (gender, rating, format).
  3. Publish and share the registration URL (/event?code=…) or QR code.

5.2 Member registration

Members sign in, open the event link, and click Register. If they do not meet mini-league eligibility, the page explains why registration is blocked. The event page shows the linked mini-league name and rules when applicable.

5.3 Enter results from the roster

After the event, open the event in Admin → Events → Enter rankings from roster. Players who registered are pre-filled; enter wins, losses, points, and placement, then save. Standings update for the linked mini-league and the club-wide board.

Part 6 — Mini-league captains

Mini-league captains are members assigned to enter official results for one or more mini-leagues — without full admin rights.

Distribute the dedicated Mini-league Captain User Manual (PDF) to volunteers in this role.

6.1 Club Play (members & captains)

Club Play (/club-play) is one dated play event inside a mini-league (day or evening) — captains and tenant admins create it and enter live court scores (phone or desktop); members sign up via the shared link and watch scores (they do not enter or peer-confirm games during the night). Open it from site nav Club Play, Rankings → CaptainRun Club Play, or Admin → Club Play. At Start live, optionally set Number of rounds (blank = round-robin default length, or unlimited king of the court / ladder / Swiss until End session). After completion, game-by-game scores appear on the Sessions tab. For casual play without Club Play, members use Submit results (§1.6) with peer confirm instead. Roles: who does what. Detail: Mini-league Playbook §4; Captain manual.

Pairing vs scoring

Live pairings (who plays whom) are driven by format, court count, signup order, partner mode, game scores, and (for ladder and Swiss round 1) mini-league standings seed — not by weight sliders, age handicap, or skill rating. Scoring weights apply when a session is completed: each player gets a weighted performance score that feeds mini-league and club-wide standings. Session placement for king of the court, round robin, and Swiss uses wins, then point differential, then a weighted tiebreaker (same weights as your club, excluding placement). Ladder sessions use final ladder order for placement. How each format matches players: Playbook §4.4. Placement detail: Playbook §4.5.

Club Play (/club-play) — signup, live courts, and game-by-game scores for one dated event.

Part 7 — Full Court Manager (optional)

Standalone Club Rankings does not include an in-app upgrade wizard. To add court booking later, contact support@stoufferai.com — your tenant, members, and ranking history can be moved to full Club Court Manager without starting over.

Billing (standalone)

$19/month includes 150 active members. 14-day free trial at clubcourtmanager.com/start?product=rankings. Manage subscription in Admin → Billing. Full CCM uses the court-based plan ($40 up to 6 courts, +$5 each additional, unlimited members).

Part 8 — Training

Training is a shared practice environment for Club Rankings on the demo host. It uses fictional players and sessions only — nothing is saved to your club and your real roster is never touched. No sign-in is required. Training does not include court booking; the full CCM demo (courts + rooms) is a separate entry at /login.

8.1 How to open Training

Training runs at one shared URL (not on each community's own domain):

If you bookmarked /rankings-scenario on your own club site, you are redirected to the shared Training URL automatically. CCM's full court-booking demo remains at …/login?fresh=1.

8.2 Choose your role

The welcome screen asks you to pick one perspective. You can switch roles anytime from the banner at the top (Training as Member / Captain / Administrator). Each role shows only what that role can do on a real club.

RoleWhat you practice
MemberBrowse fictional leaderboards and sessions; preview email/text notifications; sign up and practice entering scores on a live Club Play court (Training only — on a real club, members watch; captains enter scores)
CaptainRun Club Play (signup → live courts → scores); enter session results for a mini-league — not club-wide Admin → Settings
AdministratorAdjust club-wide weight presets with side-by-side leaderboard compare; full Club Play host tools

To see admin-only tools (club-wide weight sliders), exit Training and choose Administrator on the welcome screen. Captains do not get the Settings tab in Training.

Training welcome screen with Member Captain Administrator roles
Training welcome — choose Member, Captain, or Administrator; fictional players only, no sign-in.

8.3 Member Training

8.4 Captain Training

Captains practice volunteer chair workflows:

Club-wide weight sliders (Admin → Settings) are not included in the Captain view. Switch to Administrator on the welcome screen to preview those.

8.5 Administrator Training

Administrators get both Settings and Club Play practice tabs. Settings includes all club-wide weight sliders — win %, placement, point diff, opponent/partner strength, optional age handicap (weight, baseline, spread), participation bonus, weekly caps, and more.

The Weight Lab on Settings shows component math for 8 fixed players in one fictional session (win %, placement, point diff, opponent/partner strength, age). Move the sliders and watch Score and Adj update instantly so you can see why a weight mattered. Season compare boards below the lab still show multi-session standings for the selected scenario.

Training Administrator Settings with side-by-side leaderboard compare
Training → AdministratorSettings — Weight Lab + side-by-side leaderboard compare (fictional players).

8.6 Scenario presets (Administrator)

Use the Scenario dropdown to load teaching presets. Each preset loads sample sessions and recommended starting weights for that format or sport:

PresetBest for
Mixed league (Pickleball)Weekly club nights — alternating round robin and king of the court
King of the CourtPlacement-heavy formats when courts rotate
Round robin leagueWin rate and point differential emphasized
Ladder mini-leagueSeason-long ladder with placement-focused weights
Bocce placement focusBocce sport preset — placement dominates
Tennis club presetTennis sport weight preset

Fictional players appear in every scenario preset for the Settings tab (four core characters). Club Play practice uses a separate pool of 24 fictional players.

8.7 Adjust settings and compare (Administrator)

  1. Pick a scenario from the dropdown.
  2. Review the default leaderboard (left column) loaded from the preset weights.
  3. Change weight sliders — win %, placement, point diff, opponent/partner strength, optional age handicap (baseline + spread), bonuses, etc.
  4. Watch the custom leaderboard (right column) recalculate instantly.
  5. Rows highlighted in yellow moved up or down vs the default — easy to see who gains or loses.
  6. Hover the ? icon beside each setting label for a short explanation.

8.8 Club Play practice (Captain & Administrator host; Member participant)

Walk through a full fictional session with 24 players (alternating men and women for mixed-doubles practice). Captains and administrators run the host flow:

  1. Click player names to simulate signups, or use Sign up all (selects everyone up to max cap).
  2. Choose format (King of the Court, round robin, ladder, or Swiss), match size, courts (up to 6), optional number of rounds at Start live, and optional max players. Blank rounds = round-robin default length from player/team count; king of the court, ladder, and Swiss keep auto-advancing until you end the session.
  3. Match size options:
  4. How formats match players in practice:
  5. Click Start live play — only signed-up players are checked in (at least two required; random mix doubles needs at least four).
  6. Enter scores for each court and click Save score — for King of the Court, ladder, or Swiss, the next round starts automatically when every court in the round is scored.
  7. Click Complete session to see game-by-game scores, session totals (with Perf performance score), tiebreaker footnotes when applicable, and a before/after standings preview for the selected scenario.
  8. Nothing is saved — use Reset practice to start over.

Members in Training can sign up and enter scores on a pre-started live round but cannot start, complete, or reset sessions. That participant score entry is for practice in the sandbox only — it does not match a real Club Play night, where only the captain or admin enters scores.

Full format guide (choice + pairing method for each option) → Mini-league Playbook §4.4.

8.9 Apply to live rankings (Administrator)

When you are satisfied with weights in Training (Administrator role):

  1. Return to Club Rankings → AdminSettings for the sport you manage on your real club site.
  2. Enter the same values (or close approximations) in the live settings form.
  3. Click Save settings — the real leaderboard recalculates from completed sessions.

Mini-league captains who use custom mini-league weights should ask an admin to preview club-wide weight behavior in Training (Administrator role), then apply overrides on the Captain tab for their mini-league only.

Nothing is saved in Training. Practice sessions use ephemeral cookies on the shared demo site. Your club data is unaffected.

Part 9 — Mini-league playbook

The Mini-league Playbook is the canonical end-to-end guide for members, captains, and admins — sign up for Club Play, post scores (live or manual), and view mini-league standings. Download the PDF to share at league kickoff.
